I have discovered something about myself. To my immense discomfort, it is likely no news to anyone who knows me. Does it always take me so long to make these connections?

The point: I do nothing unless it pleases me.

Now, I don’t mean that everything I do is fun. That is certainly not the case. But every single thing I do, from sitting and staring at the walls to offering help to someone around me…everything…pleases me. And if it does not, I just don’t do it. Period. I find that everything must serve a purpose in my world. If it serves no purpose I can see, then for me it has no existence. The purpose doesn’t have to be great, but there must be SOME benefit or gain in it…some value I place in the outcome.

Good Lord! Does this mean I’m selfish?
