On the most auspicious occasion of my natal anniversary.

(Give her a break, she’s ten)

Oh Mother, oh Mother, another year older.
When you are around I feel warmer not colder.
Mommy dear, it’s plain to see
I love you. I do. As much as can be.

I love you, I love you, O Mother dear.
Oh Mommy, Oh Mommy, you’re older by one year.
You’re the best mom, the best there can be.
I’ll love you forever, however old ye may be.

And under the heading of “Doublets for Mommy”

I don’t care how old ye be.
You’re still the only Mom for me.

I love my Mom, oh yes I do.
Whether she be 36 or 102.

Lovely old Mum, she’s 36.
She always helps me in a fix.

Mom, you’re fun. Oh yes ye is.
And now I’d like a hug and kiss.

I love my Mom, Oh yes I do.
You’re really fun, and caring too.

Best present so far today… the giggling she’s caused with these. Soo… she’s probably not going to win any awards for these…who cares? They’re still precious. And she has a decent command of rhyme and rhythm, it seems.
